We are designed to create.
Like many artists I’ve always had a love for art. I’ve been creating art for as long as I can remember. Despite that, it wasn’t until I was diagnosed with an auto immune disease and I had to suddenly leave college due to severe health complications that I could hear God speak to me through art. At the time, I remember feeling completely forsaken. All my plans up to that point came to a sudden halt. I didn’t know how to move forward and I felt like a complete failure. And then I started drawing how I felt and little by little God started speaking to me. It was like He had closed a bunch of doors in my life, but opened a door that led me directly to Him. It took me about a year and a half to get on my feet, but during that year and a half I drew and painted like crazy. A whole world was opened up to me and now I am so thankful God loved me so much He allowed me to go through the pain of having a chronic illness because without it I would never have found out that I can hear His voice and feel His love though creating. As we strive to be like our Savior maybe part of that means creating, like he did. Maybe we are designed to create and that is why we feel the love of our Father in Heaven when we create. Whether it is creating a loving home, painting, baking, becoming a parent, or even creating joy around us we are all creators through Christ. And sometimes we don’t realize that until we fall.
Since then I got married to Andrew a.k.a the Andy to my Anne! We are blessed with a sweet little boy, Jonas! Thank you for supporting our little family and I hope that my art can help you feel God’s love through the beauty of creation!
